To improve the efficiency of our communication, our goal is to have the parent email addresses for every CHS family. Please email Gena Evans (gena.evans@commerceisd.org) your email address so you can be included in our school news updates. Be sure to include your name and your student's name.

Family Access

6-familyaccess copy.jpg
We are pleased to announce Family Access for Commerce High School. Family Access is an easy to use Web based information and communication center designed to provide parents and guardians with the answer to “What did you do at school today?” It allows parents and guardians to view student information including daily attendance, daily food service, grades and student schedules via the Internet. To complete an application, please visit the library at Commerce High School. We welcome you to Family Access, and hope you will find this to be an effective tool in enhancing your communication with CHS.

Testing Schedule

Credit By Exam - If a Student Has Not Taken the Course

A student will be permitted to take an exam to earn credit for an academic course for which the student has had no prior instruction. The dates on which exams are scheduled during the 2009 - 2010 school year include: Fall dates: September 22, 23, 24. Spring dates: January 26, 27, 28.

A student will earn credit with a passing score of at least 90 on the exam.

If a student plans to take an exam, the student (or parent) must register with the principal no later than 30 days prior to the scheduled testing date. The district will not honor a request by a parent to administer a test on a date other than the published dates. If the district agrees to administer a test other than the one chosen by the district, the parent must purchase a test from a university approved by the State board of Education.
