My parents, A.B. and Nancy Madewell, moved my two brothers, two sisters and me to Commerce in 1960. My siblings and I grew up in the community of Commerce and were all graduates of the Commerce Independent School District. After graduating from Commerce High School in 1975, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten Endorsement from East Texas State University. I began teaching at the Fannindel Independent School District in 1987. During my 19 years at Fannindel Elementary, I taught grades K-6th and was also an Instructional Reading Coordinator. In 2003, I returned to Texas A&M University-Commerce and completed my Masters of Education in Administration earning my Mid Management Certification. I have been with the Commerce Independent School District for the past 11 years serving as a third grade teacher at the A.C. William’s Campus for three of those 11 and 8 as Administration at Commerce Elementary.
My husband, Glenn, and I have been married for 41 years and live in Cooper. He is the vice-president of Transportation and Warehousing for Delta Logistics in Greenville. We have two children, Jennifer, and Colby. They are both graduates of Cooper High School. Since then, Jennifer has earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas in Dallas. In 2007, she married Cody Allen, a graduate of The University of North Texas. She, Cody, our grandson, Aidan, and granddaughter, Addison, live in Commerce and both are employed with L-3 in Greenville. Our son, Colby, earned his welding certification from Paris Jr. College and Firefighter and EMS certification from Texas A&M University-Commerce. He has been employed with UPS since 2004. Colby married Brittany White, a Paris native and graduate, in 2007. Brittany graduated from North Texas Community College Dental Hygiene Program in Mt. Pleasant. She is now a dental hygienist. We have a total of three grandchildren.

I returned to Texas A&M University-Commerce and earned my Master’s in Elementary Education and my Administrative Certification.
I am beginning my 24th year in education. My teaching career began in the eighth grade science classroom at Commerce Middle School, as well as coaching seventh /eighth grade girls’ athletics. I transitioned to the elementary level after my first year where I spent eleven years teaching all subjects in the fourth grade classroom, a year with third, fourth and fifth grade students teaching a reading intervention program, and five years teaching math and/or science in fifth grade. My last three years of teaching were completed in the sixth grade science classroom at Commerce Middle School. This year will be my third year as assistant principal for Commerce Elementary School.
I am married to Michael Beane, a Commerce High School graduate, who owns his own business, Com-Tex Heating & Air Conditioning. We have two daughters. Chelsey, a recent graduate of Commerce High School, attends Texas A&M University in College Station. She is working toward a business degree from May’s Business School. Cailynn, a freshman at Commerce High School, is a member of the junior varsity volleyball team and is also involved in dance. My husband and I are proud of the education and experiences our daughters have received growing up in the Commerce community.
Commerce Elementary School provides a safe, child centered environment in which our students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Teachers and staff members are dedicated and committed to the success of every child. I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to provide support and interaction that contributes to a wonderful partnership between home, community and school, thus benefiting the children at CES.
In partnership with families and community, CISD will provide all students an exemplary education, preparing them to be successful, productive citizens.
