Ja'Bria Miles

Hi, my name is Ja’Bria Miles. I am from Dallas Texas. I am excited to be serving the amazing students at Commerce Middle School with the support from the wonderful staff. I am honored to meet you all and I want you to know that I am here to teach, uplift, and challenge. I have high expectations for each one of my students and I know with your help that they will not only reach, but exceed mine, yours, and their own expectations.

I was recently at Commerce High School, where I did my student teaching, and I am a proud Alumni of Texas A&M University Commerce. I majored in mathematics and I decided to teach because I wanted to inspire the youth and let them know that I believe in them, their goals, and their dreams. My goals are to allow the students to have room to build character, use their interest and curiosities to dive deeper into learning, and create a community that allows for them to grow socially in order to be positive citizens in their community.

Social Studies

"I am a firm believer of life-long learning. I have dedicated my life to learning and consider it a gift that needs to be cherished until the end of my days. I was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, and moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area when I was seven years old. I graduated from Rockwall High School  and received my Associates Degree from Eastfield Community College. I graduated Cum Laude, receiving my Bachelors of Science Degree in History and in English with a concentration in History and Social Studies, from Texas A&M University-Commerce. After a year of teaching at multiple grade levels, I decided to go back to TAMU-C for a Masters of Arts Degree in History with a Certification in Public History. I am the first student in TAMU-C history to receive a Certification in Public History, which I put to good use as the Assistant Director of The Sherman Museum and Adjunct History professor at Grayson College. I am very excited and look forward to being a part of the CMS family and community, as a Social Studies Teacher."
