I am honored to be the Principal at Commerce Elementary School. It is my pleasure to serve our learning community and contribute to the success of students at CES.
I am a graduate of Whitewright High School. I attended East Texas State University in Commerce where I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with certifications in Elementary Self-Contained Grades 1-8 and Elementary Life-Earth Science Grades 1-8. I returned to Texas A&M University-Commerce and earned my Master’s in Elementary Education and my Administrative Certification.
I am beginning my 25th year in education. My teaching career started as an eighth grade science teacher at Commerce Middle School, as well as a coach of seventh/eighth grade girls’ athletics. I transitioned to the elementary level at A.C. Williams where I taught all subjects as a fourth grade teacher, reading intervention to third, fourth, and fifth graders, and math and/or science in fifth grade. My last three years of teaching were completed in the sixth grade science classroom at Commerce Middle School. I have been assistant principal at Commerce Elementary School for three years.
I am married to Michael Beane, a Commerce High School graduate, who owns his own business, Com-Tex Heating & Air Conditioning. We have two daughters. Chelsey, a recent graduate of Commerce High School, attends Texas A&M University in College Station. She is working toward a business degree from May’s Business School. Cailynn, a junior at Commerce High School, is a member of the varsity volleyball team, varsity golf team and is also involved in dance. My husband and I are proud of the education and experiences our daughters have received growing up in the Commerce community.
Commerce Elementary School provides a safe, child centered environment in which our students can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Teachers and staff members are dedicated and committed to the success of every child. I look forward to working with all our stakeholders to provide support and interaction that contributes to a wonderful partnership between home, community and school, thus benefiting the children at CES.
